Krystina Lyn Corriveau, 18, was pronounced dead at Newton Medical Center after crashing her Honda Civic into a tree in Hardwick Township, state police confirmed.
Born in Newton, Corriveau grew up in Hardwick and was weeks away from her graduation at North Warren Regional High School, her obituary says.
Corriveau worked at Dunkin’ Donuts in Hope and was planning to pursue a career in dentistry by attending Bergen County Community College, her memorial says.
She is remembered as a “beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend.”
“Krystina was a loving and compassionate person, who loved to be surrounded by her pets, family, and friends,” her memorial says.
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe created for Corriveau’s funeral and medical costs has raised nearly $27,000, exceeding its $20,000 goal in just one day.
Corriveau is survived by her parents, Donald and Catherine (Polowy) Corriveau; her sisters, Kimberly Corriveau and Erica Verstraete; her brother-in-law, Theo; her niece, Juliette Verstraete as well as several extended family members and close friends.
Corriveau’s calling hours will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the the Evangelical Free Church of Blairstown on Lambert Road. Her funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter And Paul R.C. Church in Great Meadows.
“She had the most beautiful smile that could light up your soul and a laugh that can still be heard by those who loved her,” reads her memorial.
